About
I was actually recommended yoga to help with the many injuries I had suffered from competitive rugby and weightlifting. At the same time, I was also struggling with severe anxiety and depression. Yoga was different than anything I had ever experienced. The union of movement and breath helped me feel control within my body. The moments of stillness brought me comfort and calmness. As I continued to take yoga classes, yoga became much more than a form of physical rehabilitation; it taught me how to accept and acknowledge my emotions, face challenges, practice gratitude, and truly be kind to myself and others.
Yoga always reminded me, "you're ok."
I decided to take a leap of faith, and at the age of 15, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training. Keen to learn more about the applications of yoga, I completed courses in RAD Mobility Yoga, Ayurveda: The Sister Science of Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Trauma-Informed Yoga, and the Science and Practice of Mindfulness at Harvard University. I have also taken courses in Indoor Cycling and Personal Training.
Everyone has different reasons for going to a yoga class, whether that may be injury rehabilitation, curiosity, or even to "get fit." Whatever the intention is, my goal is to create a welcoming environment in which students feel accepted, supported, and inspired to achieve their goals. My teachings are meant to safely guide students into poses, but I always encourage students to listen to their bodies. I have taught Power, Yin, Vinyasa Flow, Fusion, Barre, Spin, Pilates, and Meditation for studios, gyms, schools, and organizations.
Some other facts about me - I live in Vancouver, BC and study at the University of British Columbia. I am currently completing a BSc + MM dual degree. In my spare time, I like to travel, watch sunsets, and drink oat milk lattes. I am super passionate about community and empowerment, so you can find me involved in a variety of mentorship, mental health and wellness initiatives.
Hope to see you soon!
